Dressing for Success: Tips for Your Business Image

From Red Carpet Fashion to Red Cross support …. what defines your personal style and your business brand? The two world seem to collide all the time and who better to define these differences but a celebrity image expert who lives in both worlds!

Most of us survive just fine not knowing the difference between Personal Style and Business Brand until a dreaded faux pa occurs! Why not just take a lesson from the many entrepreneur and business professionals I’ve coached. Today on FOX News First, I shared success samples of my tips to mirror some areas of my clients’ personal styles and business brands. Here’s a bit of what we discussed!

How can social networks like Facebook and Twitter help your weekend planning but possibly hurt your business reputation? 

If you’re protective of your professional image, it may seem like common sense not to post personal information online that can negatively affect your image and reputation. However, more often than not, I see or hear about business owners or executives posting pictures and tidbits about their personal lives online that later becomes somewhat controversial or has even caused them to lose their job! Distinguish your personal online image from your business online image.

Remember… it can take years to build up a strong professional reputation, and only seconds to ruin it. Always think before you post!

Nowadays, social media allows businesses to connect with their customers/supporters on a closer level. There’s nothing wrong with letting your customers get to know you more personally (in fact, it can often build a stronger following/patronage for your business) but just know where to draw the line. One way to do this is to put yourself in the shoes of the people seeing this information online.
